The Episcopal Church Women of St. Mary’s is the fellowship of ALL women of the Church and is organized to enable us to serve our Lord through Service, Worship, Education, Evangelism, and Pastoral Care. All the women in the parish are members.
Our Purpose as the Women of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Lampasas is to empower each other to live the life for which Christ called us, to promote spiritual growth through fellowship in our Christian faith, and to foster active participation in the mission of St. Mary’s and the wider Episcopal Church by sharing His love through outreach, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
The ECW elects a Coordinator, a Treasurer, and a Secretary who serve one year terms. Each year, in January, the membership schedules events and fundraisers for the entire year, and appoints Chairs to direct each one. Additions and changes can be made throughout the year. The ECW also hosts social events at the request of the vestry. The allocation of funds is decided by the membership in January and can be changed if necessary. All monies raised are distributed in December to various outreach organizations in the community or to meet needs within the parish, the ECW keeping only seed money to begin the new year. It sponsors two United Thank Offering Ingatherings each year from which all monies are transferred to the Diocese. It also recommends eligible young women from the parish for the Vera Gang Scott Scholarship.
St. Mary’s ECW is affiliated with the Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Texas and pay an annual “fair share” which is equal to 1.1% of St. Mary’s Diocesan Assessment. For more information about the Diocesan ECW, click here.
